The
Jaisalmer Fort :-
This huge and expansive, golden hued fort, also known as
'Sonar Kila', affords a splendid view of the city, from its
top. Perched on the top of the hill, it has an enchanting
cow-web, of narrow lanes, dotted with some lovely havelis, three
beautifully sculptured Jain Temples of the 12th-15th century
A.D. and five interconnected palaces. It can be approached
by four gateways-Akhaiyal, Ganesh Pol, Suraj Pol and Hava
Pol.
Gadi Sagar Lake:-
This lake affords, a panoramic view, when rainwater gets accumulated
here, it was once, the main source of water supply to Jaisalmer. One
can also see numerous, beautiful shrines around this lake.
Patwon-ki-Haveli :-
This is the most elaborate and magnificent, of all the Jaisalmer
havelis. The exquisitely carved pillars, extensive corridors
and chambers, are some of the distinct features, of
this haveli. The jhali work, of these havelies, is very finely
& beautifully, designed & crafted. One of the apartments,
of this five storey high haveli, is painted with beautiful
murals.
Jain Temple-The three exquisitely carved jain temples, are
dedicated, to the three Jain Tirthankars-Rishabhdev, Sambhavnath
and Paraswanath. These temples are, one of the most sought
after, Jain temples in India.
Sam Sand Dunes :-
The beautiful sand dunes of Sam, is a must seen place, this
is a place full of magic & fantasy filled with realism. This land
of mirage & illusion, is a must watched place, out there. Adding
to its beauty, is the camel safari. Both of these activities,
are a must, as both of these are, the distinct qualities of
rajasthan.
Museums :-
Desert Culture Museum, Jaisalmer Folklore Museum and Government
Museum are worth visiting museums, in aisalmer. All of these
